• Mipo Odubeko (Forward, Shelbourne): Odubeko is Shelbourne’s most consistent threat and the player most likely to trouble Derry’s back line. However, O’Reilly fired Derry back ahead two minutes later. James-Taylor levelled again after Maher spilled a free-kick, before Dipo Akinyemi powered in the winner from Duffy’s cross. Ronan Boyce was sent off with 13 minutes left, but Maher’s late saves preserved a vital three points for Derry.

Shelbourne’s Recent Form

Shelbourne secured a crucial 1-0 win over a spirited Galway United at Tolka Park on Sunday. The hosts dominated possession for long spells and carved out chances, but Galway’s resilient defence frustrated them. Wood was brought down in the box, and calmly converted the spot-kick to finally break the deadlock. 

Before that, Galway had posed threats on the break but couldn’t make them count. As the clock ticked into the final stages, Galway piled on the pressure, searching for a leveller, but Shelbourne held out to take all three points. The win keeps Shelbourne’s title hopes alive and shows their resolve in tight matches.
