Johnny Fisher vs Dave Allen Preview

Johnny Fisher and Dave Allen meet in heavyweight action on December 21st. They form part of the evening’s entertainment as they compete on the Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk undercard. Fisher is looking to add another name to his undefeated record since turning pro in 2021.

Dave Allen is a likeable figure on the UK heavyweight scene but has not hit the heights Fisher is touted for. Can the White Rhino pull off the upset in Riyadh, or will Fisher continue to barrel through his opponents in style?

Johnny Fisher vs Dave Allen Predictions

Fight result: Johnny Fisher via KO/TKO

Johnny Fisher carving out a name for himself in the heavyweight division. The Romford Bull is proving to be more than just a TikToker, winning all his 12 professional fights impressively. Fisher’s transition into professional boxing after a brief amateur career has been seamless so far. He finds himself on the undercard of the biggest fight of the year as Tyson Fury faces Oleksandr Usyk in a rematch for the world titles in Saudi Arabia.

He steps into the ring against his most experienced opponent yet on Saturday. Dave Allen has 31 professional fights, more than Fisher’s three previous opponents combined. However, Johnny Fisher is proving to be a wrecking ball at heavyweight. Our boxing prediction is for the 25-year-old to claim the 13th victory of his career in Riyadh.

Fisher’s power is his biggest asset heading into this fight. Allen has admitted his fear of hitting the canvas in Riyadh. The 25-year-old will force Allen back, fighting behind a powerful step-in jab and looking for openings to land power punches. He carries power in both hands, swinging huge hooks and overhands after softening opponents up. That style may seem reckless to some, but the proof is in the pudding for Fisher who has 11 stoppages in 12 fights.

Fisher lacks professional experience Allen boasts, but his boxing resume precedes his in-ring career. He sparred with Olympic medallist and former WBO interim heavyweight champion Joe Joyce while preparing for his fight with Daniel Dubois. Joyce’s manager encouraged Fisher to pursue a pro career, and the rest is history. That experience with a fighter of Joyce’s stature has propelled the young heavyweight through the early stages of his career.

Allen has been knocked out four times in his career. Although the 32-year-old has won far more fights than he’s lost, any fight fan knows there’s a limit to how many knockdowns a boxer can endure before his capabilities suffer significantly. Allen is no slouch with 26 wins, but Fisher will still smell blood looking at his record. He will pounce at the first sign of a wobble on his way to another victory.

Johnny Fisher vs Dave Allen Fight Outcome

Allen is the most experienced fighter Fisher has faced, but there is a chance he still isn’t prepared enough for the Romford Bull. His previous two fights have been four-rounders against fighters with derisory records. Fisher enters after a 36-second KO over former world bridgerweight contender Alen Babic. This fight may prove an even bigger test for Allen than for Fisher.

The 25-year-old will waste no time walking Allen down and disrupting any rhythm with his powerful jab. From there, Fisher is just waiting to let his hands go. His overhands and hooks will overwhelm the White Rino and Fisher should be boasting a record of a dozen stoppages by the end of the fight. However, he must avoid being reckless. Allen boasts 18 knockouts in his career, more than any of the 25-year-olds previous opponents.

Johnny Fisher vs Dave Allen Betting Tips

Fisher is an overwhelming favourite for this fight, worth 1/16 with our online bookmaker. There is no real value in a straight-win bet with €10 on Fisher to win, returning just €0.60 in profit. However, Dave Allen is worth 6/1 if you think he can pull off a major upset. A €10 bet on the White Rhino would return €60.

There is more value in betting on the exact method of victory. Despite Fisher’s incredible power, all his stoppages have been TKOs rather than KOs. A bet on Fisher to win via TKO is worth 8/15, but we think he can put an exclamation point on this victory. We like a bet on Fisher to win by KO, worth 11/4.

Ten of Fisher’s 11 stoppages have come within the first four rounds. Five of them have been in the first. He will come flying out the gates in this fight, looking to get Allen out as early as possible. The young fighter has won his previous two fights via TKOs in the first round and we think he can make it a hat-trick here. Fisher to win in round one is worth 15/2 for anyone betting on boxing.

That also informs the over/under betting. Only one of Fisher’s fights has gone to decision and just two beyond four rounds. There are some contradicting reports over whether this fight is eight or 10 rounds. Either way, we do not see it going the distance. Only two of Fisher’s 12 fights have gone beyond four rounds, and we like a bet on under 4.5 rounds in this fight, worth 17/20.

Johnny Fisher vs Dave Allen Key Stats

Dave Allen stands at 6’3” with a 75” reach. He enters with a 23-6-2 record and boasts considerable knockout power with 18 stoppage wins. The 32-year-old has struggled to reach the pinnacle of boxing and is more of a journeyman in the UK heavyweight scene. His most notable victory came against former WBF heavyweight champion Lucas Browne in 2019, but most of his wins have been padded against other journeymen. Allen’s previous five victories have all come against fighters with losing records.

Johnny Fisher will have an inch advantage over his opponent on Saturday, standing at 6’4” with a 76” reach. He enters with a 12-0 record, finishing all but one of his opponents in his budding young career. His best years are still ahead of him at 25 years old, but there is already some noise building around the Romford Bull. His 36-second KO of Alen Rebic in his last fight was his most impressive win to date. Allen is his most experienced opponent, but Fisher has beaten stronger fighters already.
