We are just weeks away from the opening day of the 2025/26 Premier League season, and teams are beginning to take shape throughout an exciting summer transfer window. With blockbuster signings, managerial shakeups, and returning rivalries, the 2025/26 campaign already looks poised to deliver.

From title contenders to relegation battles, this season promises drama at every turn. Whether you’re a fan, a fantasy manager, or looking to place some smart wagers, we’ve broken down everything you need to know before the opening whistle. Let’s dive into our Premier League predictions and best betting tips for the season ahead.

Premier League Winner Predictions

Predicted Winner: Liverpool

The title race this season looks wide open. All of last season’s top four have added genuine quality to their squad and continue to look for more in the summer transfer window. Reigning champions Liverpool dominated the top spot for much of last season and have improved their squad further with marquee signings Florian Wirtz and Hugo Ekitike. Arsenal have finally ended their long hunt for a striker with Viktor Gyokores and have added flair with Noni Madueke and composure with Martin Zubimendi.

Manchester City had one of their poorest seasons in recent memory last year and have responded by strengthening with the likes of Tijjani Reijnders and Rayan Cherki. Elsewhere, Chelsea are buoyant after their Club World Cup win and have signed a trio of highly-rated young forwards in Joao Pedro, Jamie Bynoe-Gittens, and Liam Delap. Each team has addressed the holes in their squad from last season.

However, one of our best soccer predictions is for Liverpool to become back-to-back champions. Something that Klopp rarely got the chance to do during his tenure at Anfield was to keep his squad fresh. Whether it was the owners or his transfer policy, the German never got to spend the kind of money we have seen the Reds part with this summer.

Milos Kerkez and Jeremie Frimpong are two excellent replacements for the ageing Andy Robertson and Madrid man Trent Alexander-Arnold. Ekitike is the first out-and-out number 9 they have had since Suarez, and Florian Wirtz is the kind of glamour signing you expect from champions. The Reds have refreshed their squad with world-class quality, and they look to have the strongest team in the league.

Premier League Winner Betting Tips

Best Bet: Liverpool to win the league (2/1)

Our best wager for anyone betting on the Premier League winner this season is for Liverpool to retain their title. They have the strongest squad in the league, and Arne Slot has proven he belongs in England. Losing one of the best right-backs in the world has not significantly hampered their chances of winning, which is a testament to the business they have done this summer. This will be tight, and City, Arsenal, and Chelsea will be breathing down their necks, but Liverpool should have what it takes to win their third Premier League trophy.

Premier League Relegation Predictions

There are three clear candidates for relegation this season: Sunderland, Burnley and Leeds. They came up from the Championship last season, and recent history has proven that staying in the division is getting even tougher.

That said, Sunderland has been the shrewdest of the three so far. The Black Cats have brought in highly rated talent Enzo Le Fee from Roma after his impressive loan spell. Simon Adingra adds quality to their attack and brings plenty of Premier League experience. Reinildo Mandava looks like a smart piece of business, coming from Atletico Madrid to strengthen their defence. However, they come in with a very young team, and Reinildo and Adingra may not be enough to cover their lack of experience.

Leeds have done some interesting business, bringing in Sean Longstaff from Newcastle and Anton Stach from Hoffenheim for a new-look midfield. Burnley have signed the most players, but on paper, they may be the weakest of the three teams that came up. However, there is an established Premier League club that we think could be in trouble this season.

Brentford lost their promotion-winning manager, Thomas Frank, who was named Spurs boss in June. Star attacker Bryan Mbuemo has signed for Manchester United, and captain Christian Noorgard exited for Arsenal at the beginning of July. The exodus could continue, with Yoane Wissa rumoured to be heading for the exit. Throw in an underperforming Wolves side, and the relegation battle could be a lot closer this year.

Premier League Relegation Betting Tips

Best Bet: Brentford to be relegated (7/2)

Thomas Frank’s overachievement with Brentford may come crashing down after his exit. They have lost their best manager in history, a 20-goals-a-season striker in Mbuemo, and their captain. In Frank’s place arrives Keith Andrews, who is untested and enters his first job in management. The Bees look in big trouble following this exodus, even without the potential exit of Wissa. The promoted sides will put up more of a fight than last year, and we predict Brentford to lose a relegation battle. A bet on the Bees to be relegated is worth 7/2 with our online sportsbook.

Premier League Value Betting Tips

Anyone who has been following the Premier League for the past 20 years will know that it pays to look beyond the top six and bottom three. Below are some PL betting tips to consider for teams finishing in the bottom half of the table.

Manchester United To Finish in the Bottom Half (16/5)

Manchester United enter this year after the worst Premier League season in their history. The Red Devils finished 15th after sacking Erik Ten Hag and bringing in Ruben Amorim. Their form under the Portuguese coach was not much better, despite reaching the Europa League final.

The signings of Matheus Cunha and Mbuemo add goals to the squad, but there is still a ton of deadwood at Old Trafford. We don’t see them finishing as far down the table as 24/25, but we have not seen enough to indicate a massive improvement. There is no doubt the club will target winning silverware and even the Premier League this season. However, it’s far more likely to be more of the same, even if they give Amorin the boot before Christmas. A bet on United to finish in the bottom half (11th-20th) for the second season in a row is worth 16/5.

Tottenham Hotspur to Finish in the Top 6 (13/8)

Spurs were in a similar boat to United last season, finishing 17th in their worst Premier League season on record. However, Ange Postecoglou guided them to the Europa League trophy, their first in 17 years. That earned them Champions League football and has allowed them to bring in the likes of Mohammed Kudus and Mathys Tel.

The spending is expected to continue in North London, and new manager Thomas Frank has a track record of getting the best out of his players. We are expecting far bigger and better things from Spurs in 2025/26. We like a bet on the Lilywhites to finish in the top six, worth 13/8 for anyone betting on soccer.

Brentford to be Bottom at Christmas (12/1)

Brentford will be relegation candidates this season. Head coach Keith Andrews has no managerial experience, and they have lost (and may continue to lose) key players. The results against Burnley, Leeds and Sunderland may be what keeps the Bees in the Premier League, but we expect a drop-off from last season regardless. This is a longshot at 12/1, but there could be real value in Brentford footing the table at Christmas.

Premier League Player Betting Tips

With a long season ahead, it can pay handsomely to guess which players will have a standout campaign. Our soccer predictions point to Manchester City or Liverpool players leading the way in the most important statistics.

Top Goalscorer – Erling Haaland (1/1)

Pep Guardiola’s Man City had an off year last season but still finished third. They also had the second-best attacking record in the league. Star striker Erling Haaland recorded his lowest Premier League goal tally to date with 22 goals, which is still an excellent return. New faces should mean a rejuvenated City side will return to form in 2025/26, and we expect another 25+ goal season from Haaland. A bet on the Norwegian to claim his third Golden Boot in four seasons is worth 1/1.

Top Assistman – Florian Wirtz (9/2)

Florian Wirtz is one of the best young players in the world. The 22-year-old recorded 82 goals and assists in 140 Bundesliga games for Bayer Leverkusen. Arne Slot has signed him to play behind his forward line, and with new number 9 Ekitike in tow, as well as four-time Golden Boot winner Mohamed Salah, he has some world-class outlets for his playmaking. A bet on Wirtz to notch the most assists is worth 9/2.
