The Reds face the Blues in one of the most exciting games of the United Rugby Championship season. The last time these sides met was in October as Leinster struggled early in the campaign. Score Prediction: Munster 16 – 24 Leinster

Our rugby predictions for this game point to a decisive victory for Leinster. The reigning champions stumbled at the start of a new URC season but have quickly found their stride. The Dubliners will travel to Limerick and take the game to Munster by putting them under sustained pressure throughout. Through penalties and unrelenting phases, the visitors will restore parity and secure the bragging rights heading into 2026.

The last time these sides met, Munster bullied the hosts across the length of the rugby pitch. Although they were behind within the first ten minutes, they never looked like losing. With four tries on the board, three coming in the first half, there was a gulf in class between the sides that, historically speaking, usually points the other way. Leinster were held to a solitary score in each half, including a consolation try in the 81st minute.

We expect Munster to be on the receiving end this time, as Leinster has finally found its feet in the URC. Last year’s winners started this season at a snail’s pace with consecutive poor performances on a South African tour and a humbling defeat to Munster in October. Since then, they have convincingly dispatched four teams in a row, including Zebre, the Dragons, Harlequins, and Leicester. The hosts have been excellent in the league until facing the Stormers in November. They raced into a solid 21-6 halftime lead in a 40-minute period where two Stormers players ended up in the sin bin. However, a yellow card from Coombes just before the hour mark opened the floodgates. 21 unanswered points flew in from the current league leaders, showing that, while Munster has been dominant in recent weeks, the same cracks in the defensive structure remain.

Leinster will dominate the set piece when travelling to Limerick. They remain one of the most dangerous sides from dead-ball situations with an effective lineout, a brutal scrum, and a devastating maul that is almost impossible to stop. Munster will have to be at their very best again, but even still, all the signs point to revenge for Leinster. They have a superior squad and will enjoy taking the sting out of the game to frustrate the home fans.

Our predictions have Leinster leading at halftime and at 80 minutes. We think Munster will close in to make it a tight match, but will ultimately fall short as they push for a winner. Leinster can afford to sit in, wait for mistakes, or bully Munster at lineouts or scrums. They have a power that nobody can contain, and it looks like the bear is finally out of hibernation after a slow start to the campaign.

That is because the visitors have a score to settle after a humiliating performance against Munster in front of their home fans earlier in the season. We expect the Blues to come out firing and take control throughout the game.

Since the defeat to Munster, Leinster has looked like itself again. That includes two convincing performances in the URC, two convincing wins in the Investec Champions Cup, and a win last week against Ulster. The ERCC games were standouts, especially the recovery in the Leicester matchup. Leinster went 15-6 down at halftime with two individual brilliant tries from the Tigers. They fought back with an incredible scrum and powerful maul to win the game. This spells danger for Munster, who have struggled to handle set pieces in recent fixtures.

Munster has shown signs of a dip after a humbling defeat to the league leaders. The Stormers trailed for most of the game but punished a Munster side that failed to create enough in the second half.
