Novibet are pleased to be sponsoring the 7 race card at Fairyhouse on Monday which marks the start of their National Hunt season. Our team have looked through the card and identified a selection in each race.

Fairyhouse Prediction & Betting Tips 02/10/2023:

Selection: Rockstown Girl

Faux Fur and Jetaway To Getaway made only average debuts over hurdles so this race looks to be at the mercy of Rockstown Girl. Although she has weight to concede to the 4-year-olds, her bumper form sets a fairly high standard, and it has hard to see where the dangers will come from if she takes to hurdling. A winner on debut at Roscommon last July, she was campaigned at the highest levels and wasn’t disgraced in the Grade 2 Mares bumpers at the Dublin Racing Festival and Aintree. A repeat of either effort ought to be enough to win what looks to be a relatively weak mares maiden.

Selection: King of Kingsfield

Harley Street and Lazer Wolf have both run well over hurdles this summer, but the pair of them shape like horses who will eventually appreciate a step up in trip, perhaps when they go handicapping after this run, so they are worth opposing at this distance. King of Kingsfield had a big reputation after winning his point last season and although he was disappointing in a Leopardstown Bumper over Christmas, he delivered on his earlier promise when 3rd in the Grade 1 Bumper at Punchestown in April. He was soundly beaten by A Dream to Share, but he still ran a great race, making good headway from the rear and a repeat of that should be enough to win this.

Selection: Banada Bridge (EW)

Solid recent form is in very short supply in this Mares handicap. The likes of Nurse Garvey and Chemdawg were merely staying on at the one pace when hitting the frame on their most recent starts and neither appeals as particularly well handicapped. Sayitfirst and Banada Bridge ran in separate divisions of a similar handicap at Navan, but there is no doubt that the latter finished 3rd in the stronger division of that race and if she repeats that form, she should at least hit the frame for all that it should be noted she is 0-15 under rules.

Selection: Shannon Royale

Huntsgrove has been unfortunate enough to bump into some smart Willie Mullins recruits over the summer and he has certainly shown enough in his 4 Bumper starts to suggest that he can win a maiden hurdle at some point. However, he may be unlucky enough to meet another above average type on his hurdles bow in the shape of Shannon Royale. He was an impressive winner of a Clonmel bumper in April and the form of that race has worked out well as both the 2nd and 4th won on their next starts. Provided he handles the quicker ground, he should be hard to beat.

4:20 Novibet Handicap Hurdle (80-109)

Selection: Atacanter (EW)

Several of these have been in good form throughout the summer months, but we are at that point in the season when the genuine winter jumps horses are beginning to emerge, and the summer form can be worth taking on. Atacanter appeals most. He returned from a break to finish 3rd in a handicap hurdle at Listowel last month, keeping on to challenge at the last and he shaped like a horse who would strip fitter for the benefit of his first outing since April. On the same mark of 104, he should go close.

Selection: He Fitz In

This is low grade fare over the longest distance on the card, but the obvious horse is the top weight He Fitz in. He was a winner on his latest start over hurdles at Navan 3-weeks ago and is best forgiven his fall on chasing debut at Sligo last week, especially as he was in front when coming down at the last. Connections have turned him out quickly and look to have found a great opportunity for him in the bottom grade over hurdles.

5:20 Bet Builder at Novibet (Ladies Pro/Am) Flat Race

Selection: Rocco Boyo

With no Willie Mullins runner to worry about, Zefiro Dodville will be a popular choice on debut for Gordon Elliott. He has a nice pedigree, but he is bred to stay much further and so he is worth taking on with the more experienced Rocco Boyo. He improved on his debut effort when chasing home an odds-on favourite from the Mullins yard at Killarney and certainly showed enough to suggest he could win what looks to be an easier assignment.
