Mikel Arteta has claimed Arsenal’s confidence has been restored and has in fact surpassed previous levels after last week’s gutsy 4-2 win over Aston Villa.

“It feel like it’s right back with more belief than before, because you have to put performances into results. Against Brentford, we didn’t win the game because of a decision.

“Against Man City, we deserved more from the performance but the reality in football is the games are decided in the boxes,” said a beaming Arteta.

Arsenal ended a four-game winless run in all competitions with the late win at Villa and regained top spot in the table.

The Spaniard has been heavily criticised after he was seen mimicking the referee at Villa Park and he may well have stumbled on a siege-style mentality.

The Amazon Prime documentary showed that Arteta is always looking for the next idea to motivate his squad – and the fall-out from last week may well be providing the ammunition.

Arsenal, though, need little help away from home. They have the best away record in the league gaining 28 points, winning nine of their 12 games on the road.

And all the signs are that last week’s come-from-behind win could be crucial in their charge for the title.

Leicester rolled over Tottenham in their last home game.

Leicester, like Villa, are no pushovers, despite their poor home record. Only Southampton have less points at home, but the Foxes rolled Tottenham over in their last home game.

That 4-1 win backed up a 4-2 success at Aston Villa, but they were brought back down to earth in a 3-0 defeat at Man Utd last week.

Still, David De Gea was forced into making two brilliant saves to stop the Foxes scoring first and they pose a significant threat of late.

They also managed to score twice last month against a superb Brighton side, but had to settle for a point and they are more than capable of adding to their 15 home goals.

This fixture has produced 15 goals in the last five meetings and goals look likely again.

Arsenal have won the last four meetings and they look like making it five in a game in which both teams will score.
