Michael Venom Page vs Shara Magomedov Predictions

Fight Prediction: Magomedov via decision

Michael ‘Venom’ Page has made a huge name for himself in MMA through his flashy, dynamic style and unorthodox striking. His creativity and elusiveness make him one of the trickiest and most exciting fighters in the world. However, this unorthodox approach can lead to trouble against skilled fighters. Shara Magomedov is one of the most dangerous up-and-coming fighters in the UFC and this will be yet another test for the British striker.

Shara Magomedov is a well-rounded fighter with plenty of tools capable of ending fights. ‘Bullet’ is a graduate of one of many esteemed Russian fight camps, known for their excellent balance between striking and wrestling. Magomedov is on the rise in the UFC and it looks only a matter of time before he reaches the top 10. He can do that with a victory here. Our MMA prediction is for Shara Magomedov to win on February 1st.

Magomedov has just as strong a foundation in striking as he does in wrestling. That isn’t uncommon among modern-day fighters, but his ability to seamlessly switch between the two sets him apart. He is brilliant at closing the distance against rangy fighters. As soon as he gets inside striking distance, he will not leave. MVP has struggled against pressure fighters since joining the UFC, and Magomedov’s ability to keep on pushing forward does not bode well for him.

Bullet’s work in the clinch could be the key to getting inside range. He is good at overwhelming opponents with relentless pressure before stepping in for a clinch and forcing them back against the cage. From there, Shara can tee off with powerful strikes. He has immense power in his hands and can hurt MVP.

Even if MVP’s size advantage prevents Shara from stepping in as often as he would like, there is still an avenue to victory for the Russian. Magomedov utilises his kicks excellently against bigger opponents. His low kicks to the body and legs help chop them down and stop them from stepping forward. His high kicks are brutal and he has head kick KO’s on his record. Magomedov’s range of striking is superb, and he has several ways to end fights.

MVP is not to be underestimated, and this fight is just as big a test for Shara. Page’s ability to fight off the clinch and avoid getting taken down will be critical in determining the outcome. If MVP can maintain his distance, frustrate Magomedov with feints, and land clean shots from the outside, he will have the advantage. He takes a massive size advantage into this fight with six inches in reach and that will play a huge role in any success for the Brit.

Another factor that will play into the fight is the conditioning and pace. Michael Page’s ability to go the distance is known, showcasing a cardio style that keeps him moving and flowing throughout the rounds. He can come in and out of the pocket in a flash, making him incredibly tough to slow down. Magomedov, however, is no slouch in the cardio department, and his aggressive pace could wear down MVP if he can keep up the pressure for 3-5 rounds.

Michael Venom Page vs Shara Magomedov Fight Outcome

Shara Magomedov’s stock is rising fight-on-fight and this will be his biggest victory to date. He will use his excellent stamina and conditioning to stay in MVP’s face, transitioning from striking to grappling to disrupt his rhythm. That is not to say his game plan will be straightforward. MVP has a sizeable reach advantage and will try to dictate the pace by keeping Shara at range. Both men share incredible striking speed in common and MVP’s entries are lightning quick. Shara has to keep his guard high.

The low kicks will play a big part in this match. ‘Bullet’ will chop away at Page’s legs and body to make it easier to walk down. The speed and power at which Shara throws his kicks are incredibly hard to deal with. From there, the Russian will use his dynamic range of striking and grappling to push MVP back. This fight hinges on Shara disrupting MVP’s rhythm and he will do it excellently.

Michael Venom Page vs Shara Magomedov Betting Tips

Shara Magomedov is an odds-on favourite for this fight. The Russian is undefeated in his career. MVP is 1-1 in the UFC after his loss to Ian Garry in June 2024. This is yet another tough fight for the Brit, and if we were betting on the fight result, we would go for a bet on Shara Magomedov. However, at 1/2 there are better bets to make on this fight.

Betting on the method of victory is a good way to up those odds. Shara Magomedov has 12 KO/TKO victories in 15 fights and three decisions. He has immense power behind his strikes. However, MVP has been finished just once in his 25 professional fights. We like a bet on Magomedov to win via decision, worth 6/5 for anyone betting on the UFC. A bet on the Russian to win via KO/TKO is worth 10/3 if you think he can become the second man to knock MVP out.

Michael ‘Venom’ Page is a veteran and icon of this sport and still has fights in him. This is undoubtedly the toughest fight of Shara’s career and MVP is more than capable of winning this fight. If you think he can cause the upset, he is worth 7/5 with our online bookmaker.

We are yet to see much of Shara’s wrestling ability in the UFC, which makes MMA betting tricky this week. He has focused on his striking in most of his fights and his grappling has shown in clinches, but the extent of his ground game is still a mystery. However, this is the best striker he has ever faced, and this may force Bullet to diversify his fighting style. We like a bet on Magomedov to land over 0.5 takedowns.

Michael Venom Page vs Shara Magomedov Head-To-Head and Key Stats

Michael Page had a long journey to the UFC. The British fighter made a name for himself around the world, fighting in Bellator, BKFC, and professional boxing and kickboxing. However, there always seemed to be a disconnect between him and UFC president Dana White. He finally came round in 2023, signing arguably the biggest fighter outside of the UFC when he became a free agent.

MVP’s first fight was in March 2024, facing Kevin Holland at UFC 299. Page fought to a unanimous decision victory in a close contest but a convincing performance from the former Bellator man. His second fight in the promotion was confirmed not long after, as Page would clash with Ian Machado Garry in June 2024. A competitive three-rounds followed, but MVP ultimately fell short, losing 29-28 on all three scorecards.

MVP will have a considerable reach advantage in this fight, standing at 6’3” with a 79” reach. He is an excellent striker with a highlight reel of knockouts behind him. He is dynamic with his striking, carrying power behind kicks and punches and mixing in flying knees and spinning strikes. Page enters this fight with a 22-3 record with 13 victories by KO/TKO, three by submission and six by decision.

Shara Magomedov entered the UFC surrounded by controversy for his actions outside of the octagon. However, there was no denying the Russian’s talent, entering the UFC with an 11-0 record. He had fought in Russia, Brazil and Thailand before he signed with the promotion, also taking part in Burmese boxing and Muay Thai.

Magomedov’s first test came in October 2023 when he faced Bruno Silva in his debut. Bullet was in dominant form, winning via unanimous decision with all three judges scoring the fight 30-27. He followed up with an impressive KO victory over Antonio Trócoli in June last year before defeating Michał Oleksiejczuk by decision and Armen Petrosyan with a highlight reel spinning back fist KO. Shara earned two Performance of the Night and one Fight of the Night bonus for his efforts in those bouts.

‘Bullet’ will give up six inches in reach at 73”, standing at 6’2”. He is a powerful and athletic striker, much like his opponent. Shara is a strong grappler, training out of the GOR MMA gym in Dagestan. He enters this fight undefeated with a record of 15-0, winning 12 via KO/TKO and three by decision.
